India demonstrated impactful leadership as a Country Champion during the four-day World Bank Land Conference held in Washington D.C., spearheaded by Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

India's flagship SVAMITVA Scheme and Gram Manchitra platform were highlighted as exemplary technology-driven rural governance models fostering inclusive development and climate resilience.

Empowering Rural Livelihoods & Economic Transformation

The conference emphasized secure land ownership’s role in empowering women and farmers, improving livelihoods, and enabling access to credit. With over 68,000 sq km surveyed and Rs.1.16 trillion worth of land monetized, SVAMITVA is a scalable blueprint for inclusive economic growth globally.

Innovative Solutions for Climate Action & Disaster Management

Shri Alok Prem Nagar showcased Gram Manchitra as a geospatial planning tool that helps Gram Panchayats with localized development plans, infrastructure, climate resilience, and disaster preparedness, underscoring the need for community engagement and capacity building.
