Dog Attack Leads to Serious Injury in Greater Noida West
A 37-year-old woman has suffered a severe spinal injury following an attack by a dog while she was out for a walk in Greater Noida West. The incident occurred on Monday, leading to the arrest of the dog's owner, a 53-year-old woman.
According to police reports, the victim was walking along the first-floor walkway of Supertech Eco Village 1 when the dog, an indie breed, lunged at her unexpectedly. The startled woman lost her balance and fell from the walkway, resulting in a serious spinal fracture.
CCTV footage of the incident, which has circulated widely on social media, shows the moment the dog attacked. The victim's husband, who received a call about the incident, rushed to the scene and found her lying on the ground. She was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Doctors have informed the family that she will require surgery due to the spinal injury. Residents of the society have expressed their concerns, noting that this is the first reported incident involving the dog, although police are still investigating.
In response to the attack, a case has been filed against the dog owner under relevant sections of the law. Local residents are now advocating for stricter regulations regarding pet control in the community.
Chaudhary Vijay Chauhan, a representative of the society, stated that measures will be taken to restrict pet access to walkways and to enhance safety features, such as increasing the height of railings.
